The NAACP says its investigation into the Pender County School District is complete.

The Pender Post reports that the civil rights group wanted to present its findings at the School Board public forum last night. School board chair Tom Roper told The Post that the forum was not the time or place to discuss the issue. He offered the group five minutes during a public comment section of the board meeting following the forum, but the NAACP declined.

Pender Post editor Andy Pettigrew will discuss the story with Marcy Cuevas tomorrow on Good Morning Carolina.

You can ready the whole story in Wednesday's edition of the Pender Post.

Let's See

they never get their way.

Why should they have any greater access than any other citizen at a regularly scheduled meeting?

Why would they have an attorney represent them and indicate the attorney would be present at the meeting?

Why would they want to present an hour long video?

Everything was turned over to the State Department of Education. Those folks reviewed everything and found no cause for the NAACP.

Yet that was not sufficient.

How hard is it for those people, or their leader, to understand hiring practices are set in Raleigh. Failure by the county to comply completely can cause the County to lose state funding.

Got an issue, NAACP? Go to Raleigh. No other County seems to have an issue.

They declined the opportunity to present their case on WWAY. I'm certain that opportunity still exists. But no, if they can not control the presentation, setting, and outcome, they decline.

I hope the County files an action and seeks reimbursement for every dollar of expense they have put out over these frivilous and unfounded allegations.
