Pender schools staring at cutbacks
pendercuts300.jpg
Financial strains at the state level could mean deep cuts for Pender County schools. The school district faces an eleven percent reduction in state funding, meaning the county would loose nearly four million dollars. The biggest blow, more than 30 teachers and 19 teaching assistants could be laid off. Cutbacks could also affect the central office staff and funding for textbooks. The district is still under a hiring freeze and not filling any vacant positions.

We can't cut any more. where is the lotto money, red light, tax $. We need to start a call chain to our state reps, local reps, and don't stand for this......
Great question where is all the lottery $$$$$ to help the schools? Well the answer is in the pockets of our elected officials. Yes the schools get a little $ but most is in the pockets of the crooks, oops sorry elected officials. The lottery $$$ is a damn joke ask every other state with a lottery.
