Perdue backs Obama

RALEIGH (AP) -- An adviser says Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue is backing Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination. Perdue consultant Mac McCorkle says Perdue will vote for Obama in the May 6 primary. Perdue's principal opponent for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in the primary, State Treasurer Richard Moore, endorsed Obama last month. McCorkle says Perdue likes Obama and Hillary Clinton, but has been swayed by Obama's message of hope and accountability. Moore yesterday publicized his endorsement by a union group, the state chapter of UNITE HERE, a union representing textile workers, hotel employees and restaurant workers nationwide. The union has 5,000 members in North Carolina. Perdue has received most of the high-profile endorsements in the campaign. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

Can you not think for yourself? If you need another politician to tell you who to vote for, you don't need to be voting. Study the facts and decide for yourself. Perdue has motivation to back Obama - to get the black vote for herself. Nothing wrong with backing him for the right reason, but she has had a tendency to lean toward anyone that can do something for her. Just check her record - see the documented times she has had to backtrack for being associated with wrongdoing.

She lost my vote

I have been very impressed with the ads that Beverly Perdue has put out and she had my vote up to now. If she endorses Obama, then my vote will go elsewhere.

Why change your vote

Why change your vote for Bev because she is backing Obama? It's just simple math: he's going to win the nomination and she's looking at long-term connections to the White House. You can't believe everything a politicion says or does is actually in the best interst of the People, can you? It makes no sense the throw the baby out with the dirty bathwater. It's too early to commit to any one of these knucklesheads anyway. I'm sure there's much more dirt and bone in their respective closets to come. It could be worse: she could be backing a Republican--how has that worked out for the country over the past 8 years! For those of you not paying attention, the Recession is here.

I have also been very impressed with the ads that Beverly Perdue has put out and the only way she would have lost my respect or my support is if she had endorsed Hillary. Keep up the good work Beverly.

is just another tax and spend Democrat. Just where do you think the funds will come from to provide free healthcare, health insurance, and tuition for community colleges...that's right...from your pocket and mine. I haven't heard her stance on illegal immigrants, but if it's the same as the rest of that spineless bunch in Raleigh...there's nothing they plan to do about it.

Just Another Democrat

If you are in a high government office, with all the numerous perks and financial advancements available, I guess it doesn't matter which political party you represent. You have it made. But it does matter to your constituents which party you represent. If you can avoid paying your fair share of taxes, which many people can, or if you live off the government in all the many forms one can, then the Democratic party is your ticket. On the other hand, if you pay your fair share of taxes, and do not live off the government, but battle it out in the private sector, don't vote against yourself...vote Republican. Bev Purdue is just another tax YOU, and spend YOUR money Democrat.

her position is that there is in fact no problem with illegal aliens. they are all undocumented workers here and they deserve more rights than the citizens.
