Perdue says she wants another televised debate with Moore

RALEIGH (AP) -- Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue says she wants another chance to debate State Treasurer Richard Moore in the final weeks before their Democratic primary for governor. Moore said Monday he's be happy to oblige. Perdue's campaign said late Sunday that she has asked the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters to host a televised debate between her and Moore. It's a turnaround for Perdue, who for weeks has declined to seek other debates in which she and Moore shared the same stage. Perdue now says she wants an additional debate so she can respond to what she called "sleazy personal attacks" in Moore's latest ad. In an interview Monday with The Associated Press, Moore said he looks forward to debating. The two candidates are scheduled participate in an online forum Monday night.
