Do you agree with no charges being filed against a Wilmington man whose shotgun went off at a gun show?

JUST

another example of a gun crazy that wants and wants and wants guns and more guns but never takes the time to learn how to handle, store, travel with and care for a very dangerous weapon. I hope the government will at least put in some form of penalty and force gun owners to accept liability for the misuse and lack of responsibility associated with gun ownership. This incident at the gun show is a good example and the owner deserves fine for this accident.

No Dumb @$$ Vaccine

I agree with no charges...because if stupidy was a crime, a whole lot more folks would be in jail. But just because he isn't facing criminal charges, it doesn't mean those injured can't come after him civilly.

That's one of the conundrums about all the talk about guns and control, they'll never be able to regulate IQ's, and things like old senile folks who can't remember where their gun is and whether or not is loaded.

There can be reasonable efforts made in inacting commonsense things like universal background checks...but then the wild card shows up now and then.

You could pass laws and regulations to high heaven, you'll never ban guns and you'll never stop people from doing stupid things with them.

Gun Show

All legitimate gun shows require checking of any weapons brought inside. It is the gun show's responsibility to do this.

Gun shooting

Anybody that transports a loaded gun to a gun show should not own a gun. Thousands of people have been killed by these types of stupid acts.

I don't own a gun, but if I

I don't own a gun, but if I did and was taking it to a gun show for sale, I think I would have the sense to clean it and check it out BEFORE HAND. FOUR PEOPLE WERE SHOT, RIGHT? JUST THINK OF THEIR PAIN AND RECOVERY. HE SHOULD BE CHAREGED AT LEAST FOR NEGLIGENCE. INEXCUSABLE. THE PEOPLE THAT THINK HE SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED IS THE REASON 26 PEOPLE DIED IN CONN. THEY DON;T REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO OTHER PEOPLE.

WOW!!! YOU KNOW WHERE THE CAPS BUTTON IS

Wow... not only do you scream a lot but you also have no idea what you're talking about... I would think that you would have the sense to not make a sweeping generalization about an issue or people you clearly know nothing about...

So Socrates let’s make this a learning experience... Go look up mens rea... It’s a cornerstone of our criminal system... Its kinda important in establishing if a crime has occurred...

If we follow your logic any accident IS a crime. Good Luck...

No...

"THE PEOPLE THAT THINK HE SHOULDN'T BE CHARGED IS THE REASON 26 PEOPLE DIED IN CONN. THEY DON;T REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO OTHER PEOPLE."

NO!! This was the result of an accident not the act of a total madman. The ones that voted no can't grasp this concept and have opted for the typical, liberal, knee-jerk reaction.....

I see your shooting your mouth off....again!

I'm sorrry, I thought the guy handed the weapon to an officer, and HE discharged it. The guy may be ignorant but the police discharged it without checking first!

WE (pro gunners) had nothing

WE (pro gunners) had nothing to do with what happened in Connecticut. If stupidity and negligence were crimes, a lot more people would be incarcerated, including yourself. I assure you, he learned a lesson. He will always check his firearm for live rounds the rest of his life. No need to punish him any more. I am sure he will be ultimately responsible for all the medical bills, because he was negligent, which is usually not a crime.

Guest211, we're glad you don't own a gun too.

Because you have to be able to read, write and understand a basic sentence to apply for a purchase permit or obtain a CCP. The sixth grade had to have been the hardest three years of your life, but give it one more try.

This incident is the result of an accident, albeit a stupid and unneccessary one, it was simply an accident. It has absolutely no relation, in any form, to the 26 innocent souls that left us in Connecticut at the hands of a mentally deranged individual. You can release your caps lock now and breath...

Civil matter

No such charge. Just make something up is your reasoning. Hire an attorney and sue him or the location. End of story.
