Do you agree with the Penn State Board of Trustees firing Coach Joe Paterno before the end of the season?

Some of you previous

Some of you previous commenters must be morons, because apparently you believe everything the media reports. The majority of the media have a "National Enquirer" mentality and they whip the moronic masses into a frenzy. Why don't you people wait until all the facts are presented in a rational manner. Firing Paterno was really jumping the gun and Sandusky will never receive a fair trial. By the way I don't like football and I was a victim of child abuse, however I am against injustice and lynch mobs.

This man should be fired,

This man should be fired, his salary stopped immediately, any medical and life insurance or any other remuneration he would have normally received should be stopped immediately. And, he should not be eligible for any retirement program --- period.

Once these things have been done taken from him, he should be imprisoned in isolation with no visitors - EVER- and nothing to eat but bread & water for the rest of his natural life.

May he rot in HELL!

What?

Let's say that you are in a location and you come upon a man raping a child. What is your next step? You are going to "go up the chain of command" and hope someone takes care of it. If you are any man or woman at all you are going to pick up the nearest item you can find and you are going to stop it now!!!!!

These poor children suffered at the hands of an animal because someone thought they should follow a chain instead of doing what was right. Everyone of these adults had a responsibility to do the correct thing but they chose not to. I don't feel sorry for any of them - they deserved to be fired - and hopefully some will be prosecuted for it. Unfortunately, the child have and will always suffer for the stupidity of those that could have helped them and didn't and for the perversity of a sick human being.

For years, whenever PaPa

For years, whenever PaPa Joe's name was mentioned, it was synomious with a great, fundamental backbone, Christian Values, and a no-nosense, blue collar, hard working approach. He was a living saint.

Now we find out he is a total FRAUD. It sickens me, to think that this man was preaching "Christian Values",over the last 11 years, while turning a 'blind-eye' to the rape of a child. Never once, in 11 years, did he make any effort to comfort the victim, nor bring the perpurtrator to justice. With his power, and clout, it could have been done with a simple phone call.

Just a few years ago, he did a interview. he presented himself as this humble, honest man, trying to angle in Christian overtones, at every turn. What a 2 faced phony.

But his true colors are finally showing. Without even being charged or named in a lawsuit yet, he has already gone and hired the best lawyer he can, to hopefully protect his phony, selfish butt, and his many precious millions off dollars he has acquired, over the years. It's all about Joe Paterno. It always has been. What a disgrace.

Joe Paterno would have been a great Catholic Bishop.

Child Moslesters

None of this would be necessary if the coaches would have done the right thing the day Sandusky was seen anal raping a child. There is no excuse for a 9 year delay. How many more victims are there now after 9 years ? Its disgusting ! The police should have been called immediately NO EXCUSE ! The coaches may have gone to the higher ups but they KNEW it did not get reported. All of them are to blame for any more children that were violated.

What about the children?

Mike McQueary told the Grand Jury that he saw Sandusky raping a boy and reported it using the chain of command starting with this great coach. If he was any kind of a man he would have made sure Sandusky never touched another child.

I just keep hearing ppl whine about the coach, school, and donations of money to the school. Why hasn't anyone asked about the boys? How are they? Are they getting help? They will have problems for the rest of their lives as a result of being raped by this man. Where is the concern for them.

I have no sympathy for any of the people who ignored this horrible crime against these children or the institution they have shamed.

For all of you who defend these men perhaps you would like to sacrifice your children or grandchildren up to take a shower with Mr. Sandusky...to show your support for this great man.

PennStatePedofileFans

Looks like there must be at least 120 readers here so far who are football and pedofile fans. How sickening for Wilmington and N.C.

For everyone else be very careful who you let your children spend time with if we have this many people who are "understanding" that is's "okay" to rape a child if you are part of a really good football team. Go team!!

Paterno

Reported the accusations up the chain of the command as required. While rules and laws may have changed now regarding 'required reporters' those laws have changed significantly in 10yrs. A man who reported the actions and then they werent acted upon isnt his fault and to treat JoePA a man who has been an institution deserved better then this treatment he got. At least to let him finish out the season would have been appropriate. As for boosters and supporters. I would send a STRONG message to the college that any reductions in financial support be made clear to be as a result of the treatment of JoePa vs the accusations that happened on campus.

In no way do I condone what this asst coach did but his day in court is coming

PATERNO

Are you crazy? You think he should be allowed to finish the season!! Obviously neither you or one of your loved ones were abused by this poor excuse for a human. Joe certainly is NOT an institution and the only thing he deserves is the most severe, legally possible punishment! This miserable, low life, predator, should to be imprisoned for the rest of his natural life. He should have no visitors, no therapy, no entertainment, no reading material, no medical attention, nothing other than just enough food to remain alive as long as possible. A death penalty would be an easy way out for this animal.

So just because he didn't

So just because he didn't necessarily break any laws, he was not morally responsible to do something about this? And how many more boys were victimized because Paterno and the others did not stand up for this boy? All the adults who knew about this and did nothing or next to nothing don't deserve to be treated with respect and no, he didn't deserve to finish out the season. The boosters and supporters should have only pulled their financial had the university chosen not to take the action they did. Paterno missed one game at the end of the season. That is a small price compared to the one that little boy has to pay for life.
