The act of charity is not only about giving and receiving tax breaks, although it is a good thing to be sure. kindness and respect to all are charities in themselves, and you can drop them off anywhere, anytime, year round for free. It can be as simple as a smile or holding a door for a stranger behind you. You can't itemize kindness to others on your taxes, but you can claim it on your conscience. That's all some of us have to give these days. Happy Holidays.
