Do you think CFPUA should back-charge customers if it forgets to bill them?

CFPUA

CFPUA should write off those charges that were not billed correctly by "employees" not by the customer(s). I'm sure customers pay for what we're billed monthly so how can they ask someone to pay for charges that were billed incorrectly by them.

In their defense, maybe the City need to take the time to check on the experience of the ones they hired for these positions, just my thought because there are not that many well paying jobs in Wilmington and it's going to be extremely hard to hand over a "Large Chunk" of money because CFPUA billed "Incorrectly".

CFPUA

What other business can go back 3 years and bill you for THEIR MISTAKES. I feel I'm being held hostage by them. I can't say anything about how they handle (poorly) the business of selling me a product which I have to have. Since their beginnngs, they have been out of control and the consumer has to pay for it. Does the head guy get a bonus on the amount of monies brought in? It certainly can't be on performance!

This does not surprise me,

This does not surprise me, remember all of the issues they had just getting this utility started way back when? Just remember the local city and county government leaders you elected are the ones who forced this utility company down our throats. I think they have the acronym backwards, it should be AUPFC (Assets Utilized Per Forced Coercion)because we really don't have a choice in water and sewer providers, do we?

CFPUA...

an fine example of how NOT to run a business. I've heard all of "their" explanations about who, what, when, where, and why the billing was screwed up to begin with. What I didn't hear was anyone saying they screwed up and admitted it. Kind of like the "Not Me Ghost" every parent has in their household with small kids. "Not Me" says the kid when asked who left the fridge door open, broke a window, etc.

Yet here we are...with some customers getting "surprises" in the mail from this quasi-governmental boondoggle. Having looked at their corporate structure, I've not seen a more top-heavy organization. And yet Carey Ricks, their spokesperson, refuses to go on camera. Probably didn't have her "talking points" prepared.

CFPUA can't keep up with it, they should drop the charge

I know the utilities nee the $$, but their error is their fault. If they can back charge, the limit should be no more than 3 years and the pay back should be spread over the same amount of time.

CFPUA charges

I think the CFPUA should be replaced. They have had nothing but trouble since they took over. If the person's charges were on their bill and that bill was paid. That person should not be charged again for some other charge (sewage). People call in and get some explanation and then something else shows up on their bill. It is not right . CFPUA SHOULD EAT THOSE CHARGES. The customer should not be held responsible for something that CFPUA should have charged for in the outset not now. I always check my account online then if I have a question then I call. Not everyone has access to the internet and they are trusting those people in the call center for answers to their question.
GET RID OF CFPUA

The water company

You use it you pay for it, but, give the people time to pay. After all they didn't miss-billing themselves. The company has been a mess with problems for a long time the city goverment needs to take this responsibility back!!!!! Who wants private water when the goverment should be supplying water to there citizens! Wonder why it was ever sold in the first place?
