Do you think tax money should be used to build a ballpark in downtown Wilmington?

What was Billy's college major?

What did Bill Saffo major in while at UNC-Wilmington.....physical education? It most certainly could not have been finance or economics. If so, he needs to demand a refund!

Baseball is good for us.

Although I agree our taxes are high enough I think we would be missing out on a great opportunity for our community.
This will not only generate jobs for construction but also staffing the facility. Closed minded people tend forget that we need jobs and some times that means sacrifice.

Most construction jobs of

Most construction jobs of this size and caliber come from out of town/out of state conractors and sports arena jobs are primarily part-time minimim wage. The cost doesn't justify the extensive long term investment and increases in our tax revenue.

HECK NO!!

I'm the biggest sports fanatic you'll ever meet....but H8LL NO!!! It's not the responsibility of the total population to support the few for entertainment...........the owner is RESPONSIBLE...then make the monies off of the product on the field.

I would like to make a

I would like to make a friendly suggestion to WWAY--please don't waste your time on polls for this issue. The city council doesn't care what the people want. The convention center is evidence of that.

AMEN!!, Guest 2020. Saffo

AMEN!!, Guest 2020. Saffo lives in Landfall and caters to the well heeled. He's out of touch with the average citizen. The residents of Wilmington are taxed to death as it is, not to mention the ever increasing water/sewer bills. And then there's the other matter of the city wanting to spend millions to buy into the old downtown parking deck. Give us a break!! The unchecked spending must stop!!!

agree

I agree with you 100% the city council does not care what the people want.. It is just about their ego.. If you question that just look at the convention center...

No Taxes...... No ball park ....
