I lived outside the country for a few years in a 3rd world country. Coming back to the USA, one of my greatest pleasures were the roads here. A rare one reminds me of where I used to be but I suspect the majority of you will never have the opportunity to really appreciate the difference between a 3rd world road and a road in Wilmington, a dependable power grid and safe water system. If you only knew........
So many people are totally spoiled und fully unaware of what things are like outside of the US!
My job takes me through some of the "finest" neighborhoods in Leland (Waterford, Brunswick Forest, Magnolia Greens) and I am absolutely amazed that those roads are a disaster - pot holes, unlevel manholes/covers, etc.), so it's no wonder that the "lesser" neighborhoods are even worse. Fix the roads, ya'll are killing my vehicle!!!
Get a grip folks, other states have it far worse from actual snow plows and salt. A few potholes won't kill you, get over yourself. The drivers in this town are far worse than the roads themselves. I'll take the potholes if all the bad drivers disappear.
Downtown roads are crappy. Around the county they are in good shape. If you call the City about potholes they just ignore you. Ex. Fourth Street. Those holes have been called in numerous times and they are still there.
4th Street is an embarrassment!
