If it is a state law to let citizens petition ,it cannot be swept aside. If those who make the laws are not subject to those laws then there are no laws.
As for our State government I see many flowers and trees planted all over the city at tax payers expense . Many states rent these areas to companies to place a modest sign in a well landscaped area.

Who thinks its ok to force people to join a city which is simply gobbling up territory to expand its ever increasing hunger for tax dollars. Guess what no more. Enough is enough. Learn to stay within your budget or else.. People who chose not to live in the city want to know they arent gonna be the victim of pacman politics.

people just outside of the city like the benefits of living next to the city without having to pay the taxes. so of course they are going to oppose! but with these hard financial times, the city is obviously going to try to increase revenue. what i think they should do is scrap the ball park plan because it is completely unnecessary and still do the annex. and then apply the money to something the city needs.
