You go lifeguards!! Good luck to all of you!
Heres an Idea - -
USE 10K TO REPLACE THE LIFEGUARD STANDS IN CB.
Notice those - compare to oter beaches.
Those lifeguards do a great job at Carolina Beach and deserve some recognition. This will be a great exercise in motivation for them. 10K is a drop in the bucket. If Obama can spend millions of our taxpayer dollars for a high-falootin' family vacay, I don't care if the town CB spends a little on our lifeguards!
Go for it!!! I hope you bring the trophies home!
remember that 10K is a drop in a bucket when taxes are raised.
Must be nice to have money to waste.
Who will man the beaches when our LifeGuards are out mingling?
...paying for this competition. We happen to support our lifeguards for the job they do and we want to see them excel. These people train hard, work long hours and don't make much money. This competition is great experience and are valuable team building exercises for these young people. They do one hell of a great job and I'm glad to see them there everytime I visit the beach. As you my be aware, Oak Island, Ocean Isle and Topsail didn't do so very well this year.
CB has somewhere around 40 lifeguards. 8 get chosen to go to California with the director for the competition. The beaches will remain covered with these lifesavers for your convenience, safety and well-being!
If the lifeguards want to go to a competition, let them raise the money. Why should taxpayers foot the bill for this nonsense?
Let them wear their uniforms while holding a bake sale, car wash or a combination of the two. If marketed and run correctly, they coule EASILY earn their own way.
...then don't fret yourself over it! None of your bidness anyway.
