yeah forget about the people that the holiday was set aside for, as long as you get to enjoy your vacation, cookout, or day off work. Good men and women died for your leisure make sure you honor them instead of being self centered as the poll suggest
As I have done for many years - I will relax and contemplate those who have died in service to our country. In many respects it is a bittersweet day as I remember with great fondness comrades, friends, and relatives who have served while also remembering the horror of how many of them died.
At the end of the day I will hoist a glass "of remembrance" and silently toast those who have gone before me. Then I will read a bit of the 'good book, and say a prayer for those who have died. I will then sleep knowing that I am being protected by the very same type of folks that I toasted, remembered and prayed for earlier.
It will be a restful sleep.........
I VOTED FOR TAKING IT EASY. I DID NOT SEE THE FIRST, HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIFE IN SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. WHY CAN'T WE DO BOTH OR SEVERAL OF THESE? I WILL CERTAINLY DO BOTH. HONOR THE FALLEN AND THEN TRY TO STAY OFF THE ROADS AT HOME.
