PPD CEO donates $1 million to UNCW athletics

WILMINGTON -- UNCW athletes have a million reasons why they should be grateful to the CEO of PPD.

Fred Eshelman gave the athletics department $1 million to support construction of a new academic center for student athletes.

The money will help initiate plans for the building. It will house a computer lab, study space, tutoring area, locker rooms and offices.

Eshelman founded PPD in 1985.
