Pregnant Marine has been missing for weeks

CAMP LEJEUNE (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies are looking for a 20-year-old pregnant Marine who has been missing since mid-December.
Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach had been expected to testify about something she witnessed on base at Camp Lejeune, although it's not clear what the case involved.
Lauterbach is about eight months pregnant.
The Onslow County Sheriff's Office says there are several findings and pieces of evidence about her disappearance that have officials "concerned."
The Marine Corps says only that it's fully cooperating.
The Ohio woman's mother reported her missing December 19th. Mary Lauterbach last spoke to her daughter December 13th. She says it's out of character for her daughter not to stay in touch.
The Marine's cell phone was found near the main gate at Camp Lejeune.
Roommate of missing Marine ordered to return to Camp Lejeune
Military officials have ordered the roommate of 20-year-old pregnant Marine who disappeared in December to return from training in California to answer questions about the
Sgt. Daniel Durham is believed to be the last person to speak with the missing lance corporal, who is about eight months pregnant. He will return to Camp Lejeune as soon as possible,
Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown said Thursday.
Brown said investigators had information that Durham, who was the missing Marine's roommate, was monitoring developments in the investigation from afar. But Brown did not describe Durham as a suspect.
"We do feel like he has answers and importance in being back here," Brown said.
