You may think you crossed all the names off your Christmas list, but did you remember Fluffy and Foo-Foo? They want to tear a gift open too. Dog Gone Crazy, in downtown Wilmington, is a popular stop for holiday shoppers and their pets. Dog lovers are buying everything from leashes to life jackets. "They're like our kids and I don't have any of those so, they deserve all the attention", said Jennifer Laquay of Southport. Susan Sewell, Owner of Dog Gone Crazy in Wilmington, said "So many people don't have kids and they need to spoil something, so it might as well be their dogs for sure." Sewell said her customers aren't splurging on their pets this year. They're buying the necessities. "Sales are down, definitely, but not by a drastic amount. People are still coming in. I think they're spending less money on foo-foo things and they're spending their money on more like basics like food and treats and toys and things like that". Customers say even on a tight budget, their pups will still have a treat under the tree.
