RALEIGH -- He doesn't have a script and shooting could be more than a year away. But producer Thom Mount seems optimistic that the original cast could return for a sequel to "Bull Durham," the movie that made minor league baseball stadiums the place to be on hot summer night.
Mount said Wednesday that once a script is ready it will work out whether the movie would be made with or without the original cast of Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins.
The New York Post first reported the possibility of a sequel Monday. Mount says shooting could begin in Durham as early as next summer.
Durham Bulls vice president George Habel said the original 1988 movie made the Bulls not just a popular baseball team, but a brand.
