Read Across America Day

READ MORE:
SUPPLY -- Dr. Seuss was the big man on campus at Supply Elementary School. Today is Read Across America Day. To celebrate and promote reading Supply Elementary School made Dr. Suess books and characters the focus of the day. Parents were invited to come into class rooms and read books to the students over breakfast. Darcie Kleino took time out of her busy morning to visit the school and read books to her son's kindergarten class. She said, "I believe education starts here at the very first level in kindergarten. This is where they learn to read, write so to me kindergarten is extremely important especially with the reading aspect of kindergarten." Each grade -- kindergarten through fifth -- welcomed parents and other people in the community to read to the students, in hopes of making kids more interested in reading a book for fun.
