Back in the spring, Wilmington's Red Barn Studio performed Alfred Uhry's "Driving Miss Daisy." For the fall, the theater is tackling another Uhry play. "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" is about a Jewish family in Atlanta on the eve of World War II. It tells their story of dealing with intra-ethnic bias and their own religious identity as they have assimilated to local culture. The seven-member cast marks one of the largest productions in Red Barn's three-year history. "The production values go way up for this show. We have wigs. We have costumes from New York. We had a make-up artist come in,” said Isabel Heblich. “We're really trying to stick to the period, and we're really trying to give it a show; you know, a real holiday experience. I mean, it's just beautiful." The Red Barn Theater is at Third and Marstellar Streets in Wilmington. "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" runs Wednesday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. through November 29th. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for students and seniors.
