Remembering Hurricane Floyd

Remembering Hurricane Floyd

For many decades, Hurricane Hazel (Oct 1954) was the benchmark for damage in North Carolina. In 1999, Hurricane Floyd set a new standard for destruction. On our 10 year anniversary page, you will find all kinds of information on the costliest hurricane in North Carolina history. We recommend that you begin by watching the video presentation "Dark Water" (below). Join us as we revisit a turning point in the history of our state- the landfall of Hurricane Floyd.
