Report: Drowning victim rode mo-ped past roadblock

READ MORE:
GREENSBORO -- Authorities in North Carolina say the woman who drowned in a rain-swollen creek apparently rode her mo-ped past a roadblock intended to keep her from trying to ride through the water. The News & Record of Greensboro reported on its Web site Thursday that 50-year-old Roseanne Marie Minton Tippett of Browns Summit drowned Wednesday evening after jumping into the creek and being swept away. The Guilford County Sheriff's Office said a state Highway Patrol trooper was blocking traffic at the creek after it overwashed the road. Investigators say Tippett rode into the creek, but was rescued after the trooper used a rope from his cruiser to pull her to safety. While the trooper went back to his car, Tippett jumped into the creek again and was swept away. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

As most moped riders

Just as most Wilmington moped riders do, they think traffic laws don't apply to them. Apparently she wanted to kill herself and succeeded.
