A power outage at the Riverfront Hilton forced guests to evacuate Tuesday afternoon.
Hilton management said a transformer shutdown causing a fan to fail and blow smoke into the building. As a precaution, guests were evacuated for about 15 minutes.
Wilmington firefighters checked the building for fires, but found none.
No word yet on what caused the power failure.
