WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Thanksgiving may be over, but the savings have just begun for shoppers daring to go out on Black Friday.

Hundreds of people lined up early this morning Kohl's and Toys R Us in Wilmington to get an early start on crossing items off their holiday shopping list. Many hit the stores early hoping to save money on gifts for family and friends.

Shoppers say although it was an early morning, it was time well spent.

"It's just one of those going out to get deals and having fun with the girls," shopper Ruth Decker said.

Many shoppers admitted to having a plan of attack of the stores they would visit to get deals.

Kohl's opened at 3 a.m., but the line was wrapped around the building with shoppers all night ready to get in the door.
