SBI investigators have decided to dig for two sets of human remains. While there are many theories as to what happened to Lela Bryan and her four year old daughter on May 10, 1941, surviving family members believe they were murdered and buried under their home on Raleigh Avenue. Last week, a radar ground scan of the home revealed three promising hits of possible buried human remains. Lewis Smith is one of the Bryan's last living relatives. He said the SBI told him the ground scan revealed enough information to go forward. According to Smith, investigators will dig a hole in the cement under the house, and attempt to search for any human remains. “I was born the year after then and I personally didn't have contact with her, but my mother was her younger sister and I would have liked to solve it before my mother died,” said Lewis. Smith said the dig will happen sometime in December. The SBI will only say the investigation is ongoing. The owner of the home would not go on camera today, but said he's 100 percent on board with digging into his property to solve this cold case mystery.
