SC bus driver duct tapes children

GREENWOOD COUNTY -- A bus driver in Greenwood County, SC has been charged with eight counts of cruelty to children. Investigators say 35-year-old Helen Curry admitted to taping the children's mouths shut with duct tape after they misbehaved. Curry says she gave the children a choice of putting on the tape or being written up for bad behavior. Deputies say the students were mostly boys and ranged in age from five to 12 years old.

This is certainly an unorthodox way to gain control of the bus. Allowing the kids to chose this method over the proper discipline was imaginatve, and it did immediately solve the problem. She was "driven" to it, and the kids seemed to prefer fast corporal punishment to other forms of reprimand. Is it funny or unsafe?
Writing the kids up would have been the proper thing to do. I understand her sentiment, but if she really wanted to get the parents attention, getting them kicked off the bus would do it, and without her getting in trouble.
This is awesome. I see nothing wrong with what she did. If the parents are upset, they should do a better job at raising respectful kids.
i would have to agree
