Schools in Pender County will finally get some relief to cramped classrooms when a new elementary school opens. Plans are already in the works for redistricting the county to make more room in schools. Once the new Topsail High School opens in January, and the middle school moves into the vacant building, the current Topsail Middle School building will become the new Topsail Elementary School. Officials said the shuffle will help reduce the number of students in each school. Parents will have a chance to weigh in on redistricting plans on January 15, 2009.
