Search for AD drawing "strong interest"

WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) – The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s search for a new athletics director has drawn a great deal of interest nationally and is progressing well, search committee chair David Swain said Tuesday.

Swain heads a 10-person search committee that is working closely with Bill Carr of Carr Sports Associates, Inc., to review candidates for the position. A strong pool of 64 applicants has applied thus far.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the candidates we have at this point,” said Swain. “I want to thank the search committee for its terrific work early in the process. They’re working very hard to bring in a passionate, energetic leader for the athletics department.”

Candidates still interested in applying should submit a letter of application and curriculum vitae to the university via Online applications with MS Word or Adobe PDF attachments are specifically preferred.

Nominations and questions regarding the search process should be directed to Carr via email at

AD best for sports

Lets hope we focus on best candidate for job and not political correctness--we need to better- sports is not most impt thing at university but we have gone backwards--let's go forward.

...and how much will we have

...and how much will we have to ante up for this new AD? This campus has LOTS of money for their new 'star' people like their basketball coaches, but they do not see fit to give the rank and file employee any raise. Go away Rosemary, please!
