Search continues for elderly Pender County man

PENDER COUNTY -- The search continues for a missing 74-year-old man from Pender County. David Pate has been missing for more than a week. He was last seen walking along Highway 4-21. It was believed he was hitchhiking to Wilmington to find a job. His son told us Tuesday that Mr. Pate may be suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Police continue to look for clues. Pender County Detective Scott Lawson said, "We're downtown just hitting the places where the homeless might go for lodging or for shelter, or food and talking to the people in the downtown area to see if anyone has seen Mr. Pate." Pate is five feet tall and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue khaki pants, a brown plaid shirt, and a tan coat. If you have any information please call the Pender County Sheriff's Office.
