videoThanks to a 30,000 grant from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources, the city held its first annual Spring Green Carnival. The carnival brought businesses and organizations together to teach children the value of recycling and staying green.

Marathon Madness in 5th annual Wrightsville Beach Marathon

video Teams encouraging runners at the 5th annual Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon. Since it began in 2010, it has become one of the biggest events in Wilmington. Thousands of runners took the course starting at Wrightsville beach and ending in the Mayfair shopping complex.

Parade, festival paint the town green

video The Guiness Parade and Festival celebrates St. Patrick's day in a big way. The 15th annual parade jump started the day's activities at 11am. Crowds flooded the sidewalks to see everything from bagpipes to marching bands.

10th annual Steve Haydu St. Patrick's Day Lo Tide Run

video Annual 5k and 10k continue aiding uninsured young people fighting cancer. Folks got together for the 5k and 10k run benefiting local cancer patients. The event in was created in 2005 by Tim Reilly after his dear friend, Steve Haydu was diagnosed with cancer.

History group looks to move little-known WWI monument
