Preserving Hewett family history

Celebrating the waters that connect us all

videoThe North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher celebrated World Oceans Day Sunday. June 8th has been recognized as a global event by the United Nations since 2008. This year's theme was 'Together we have the power to protect the oceans.' The aquarium had extra education stations allowing kids to learn about the ocean hands on. One table allowed kids to do a fake dissection. Kids pulled items out of the "stomach" of a marine creature and guessed the animal they were exploring.
