WILMINGTON -- There's been another sewage spill in the Bradley Creek area. It's the third one in two days.

It's also brought an abrupt halt to repair work.

This line shows where one spill occurred in the Wrightsviile Green neighborhood as temporary bypass lines became disconnected.

One-thousand gallons spilled Tesday, about 300 gallons spilled Wednesday morning.

Wednesday afternoon another spill occurred near Wrightsivlle Avenue. That one sent an estimated 12,000 gallons of sewage into Bradley Creek.

You're advised to avoid contact with water from Bradley Creek between Wrightsville Avenue and the intracoastal.

No wonder

No wonder we have a sewer spill problem, the county is trying to pacth something that just keeps growing.

STOP ALL BUILDING NOW! That would make a whole lot of people come together to find a quicker, cheaper, easier fix to the problem than we have in place right now.

People are trying to make money over cleaning up poop. We NEED to make the incentive to make money for having delt with it already responsibly, and planned for it in building approvals and permits/area capacity.

Solution Number Two... (I swear that wasn't a pun), ration water, little in-little out. Hire a real pipeline company to come fix the lines and/or install adequate ones, spend the money to increase capacity of nearby stations and plan for long term growth. Stop wasting (tax payer) money on STUDIES and convention center crap! We need to get rid of waste and deal with it before we build bike paths that will be torn apart next year, jerk around with dredging in/around wrightsville beach, and give out overtime for cops to soak up and not really do a damn thing.

Mega-Fine

Just where do you think the $$$$ for the fines come from?
Taxpayers. Fines won't fix the problem but voting might.

Voter outrage will grow....

...because it IS our money.....and total outrage is what it's going to take to get these bums out of office.

Plus, huge fines won't immediately translate into higher taxes, just re-allocated priorities. They might have to divert money from the unneeded and destined-to-go-broke convention center.

Wouldn't THAT get them crying in their beer!?

Too Many Yankees

Too many Yankees and not enough sewer pipes. Remember the 80s and early 90s when we could flush the toilet and not have to worry about 10 more Yankees flushing at the same time.

Your house

And your house was worth 20 grand.

No way

Third one in two days... 1.5 per day on average. Are these people really quallified to do this kind of work???

Oh, thank goodness!

I was afraid that we were going to make it through an entire Summer without a few of our larger tidal creeks smelling of fresh fecal matter.

All of you tin-foil-hat anarchists, so worried about the county ERT showing up on your doorstep, should wake up and realize that you face a far greater health threat from our sewage spill d'jour than you do from the sheriff's department.

Here's hoping the feds and state finally hand the city and county a mega-fine we won't soon forget. Hey! If you guys want to see someone indicted, might I suggest the entire City Council and all the County Commissioners, who are guilty of total non-feasance in doing anything about stopping these incessant sewage spills.

If this were China, they'd be taken out and shot.

I'd settle for them being seized and thrown into Bradley's Creek.

Keep in mind

"Here's hoping the feds and state finally hand the city and county a mega-fine ..."

That should this happen, who do you think ultimately pays this fine? We do...the taxpayers.

Remember this at election time. Both at the City and County level when the incumbent incompetents are running for re-election.

You're so right

You face a far greater threat from drunk driving illegal aliens..

But if this were China, they would be using the sewer spill material for fertilizer and just the guy reporting it would be taken out and shot.
