READ MORE:

Another Wilmington street will be out of commission for a few days due to sewer problems. A cave-in forced the closure of 41st Street between Peachtree Avenue and Oleander Drive in Wilmington. The Cape Fear Public Utility authority said the failure is due to the aging infrastructure of the sewer system. Crews were on the scene Wednesday and will work to re-open the street in the next three days. Access to the Anderson Square Shopping Center is not blocked.

Sewer collapse

Yes, my son found out about the collapse the hard way. He drove into it yesterday during the heavy rain. Now he has damage on the undercarriage of his car.....any recourse against the city for help with repairs??

41st Street

I would start out by calling the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority. I thought they had just completed sewer work on that street this past year? I don't think you or your son would have any recourse against the city since it was sewer related and the city is not in the sewer business anymore.
