Sewer line work means road closures

READ MORE:

The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority continues construction on the NEI Expansion, a project began by the City of Wilmington and performed by the CFPUA. The NEI ‘Northside Force Main Phase 1’ project will install nearly 4½ miles of 24-inch diameter wastewater pipe from Pine Grove to the Bradley Creek Pump Station along a route as illustrated in the attached. Completion of all NEI Expansion projects will allow the Authority to send much of the NEI flow to the Northside Waste Water Treatment Plant in 2011.

The scope of construction includes the clearing of the project route followed by pipe installation. Project clearing and construction will impact regular traffic patterns.

Current road closures:

· Rose and Wrightsville Avenue closure began on May 27th.

· The Intersection of Rose Avenue and Riegel Road will be closed on July 12 and 13th.

· All lanes of Greenville Avenue from Wrightsville Avenue to Park Avenue will be closed for 30 to 45 days starting July 8th.

Work on this project will be conducted in established rights-of-way and easements with construction areas open to local traffic only. There may be periods when residences along the project route will experience occasional traffic detours or delayed traffic flow between the hours of 7 AM – 7 PM Monday through Friday.
