WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Despite the heat, the coolest Wilmington Sharks game of the season took place this morning at Buck Hardee Field. The Shark Tank was transformed into a water park for children to enjoy while the Sharks hosted the Fayetteville Swampdogs in a summer league baseball game.

The contest started at 11 a.m. That was a special start time in order to accommodate Big Splash Day at the ballpark.

"I got a great compliment from one of the groups that came out. They were all worried about it being hot our here today," Sharks GM Andrew Aguilar said. "When they saw the slides and saw what it was all about, they got excited that the kids could cool off instead of just sitting out in the sun all afternoon."

Big Splash Day certainly looked like a hit for the Sharks, and the game turned out to be a winner for Wilmington as well. The Sharks beat Fayetteville 5-4. It's the Sharks third straight victory. Wilmington will host the Carolina All-Stars tomorrow at 7 p.m.
