Slain NC woman's family ask killer to come forward

CARY -- The family a North Carolina mother found slain near her suburban home says the culprit should speak up if the person has "a shred of decency." Garry Rentz said Friday the only way for the family's pain to end would be for the killer to acknowledge their role in the death of his daughter, Nancy Cooper. Authorities in the Raleigh suburb of Cary have not named a suspect in Cooper's death. But her parents and sister persuaded a court to grant them custody of her two young daughters. They had been staying with Cooper's husband Bradley. A private memorial service is set for later Friday. Cooper's family plans to return to their home in Canada with the children this weekend, before returning to North Carolina for a Friday custody hearing. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. The husband lost his wife, and the wife's family took the only thing he had left... His children.... Why? It just seems so cold and cruel when there is already so much hurt and loss.

What do we know of the

What do we know of the father? I haven't heard to much about him. If he is a good sane man then why did the judge grant for the family and not for the husband? Were they still married or divorced? I can't imagine a judge granting this unless there are other issues with him.

Not a perfect world

I would like to send my condolences to this family. I just can't imagine the hurt they are going through at this time. My heart really aches for the children! How sad that their mother is gone forever!!!!! I can't blame the family for feeling like they do, but do they really think the person will come forward. They murdered her! That shows no compassion whatsoever, so surely they wouldn't step up and admit it. The only change that will come to the person or persons who did this will be a heart change. Then and only when they ask the Lord to forgive them and then come forward to admit what they have done, will anything happen. The sad thing about it is that it will probably come back to being a family member who did it. That seems to be the thing today. You get tired of a family member, just kill them! What a sad commentary for society!!!!! I pray that this family will be able to pull their lives back together and help these children cope with what has happened.
