Social networking website gathers locals to raise money for charity

Ever heard of a Twestival? Next Thursday, 120 cities around the globe are taking part in the social and charity event. The name Twestival comes from the popular short-hand messaging website, Twitter. The public can come out from behind their computer screens and socialize, or "tweet" the old-fashioned way. The purpose is to raise money to help bring clean and safe drinking water to the billion people around the world who need it. Wilmington's Twestival is Thursday, February 12th, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Port City Pub. Tickets are fifteen dollars ahead or twenty at the door. Beer, food, and entertainment are included. To find out more information, visit Wilmington’s Twestival website.
