TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) -- A Tabor City ABC employee has been cited for selling alcohol to a minor who died in a car accident shortly after the purchase. Troopers said alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
WWAY has learned that Tony Lee Byrd, the liquor store employee, is the uncle of Daniel Patrick Young, the teen investigators say was driving the car that crashed and killed Young's passenger 19-year-old Kuamane Charles McCord. Investigators say Byrd sold McCord alcohol before the accident.
Byrd is scheduled to appear in court July 28.

Columbus County
and in the past, the posts have all been about retiring Senator Soles.
The penalty for this guy should be increased as it was his nephew and as noted, he should have known the young man's age.
