Spring may have officially started a few weeks ago, but the city of Southport celebrated the season Saturday with their annual Spring Festival. Hundreds of people gathered at Franklin Square Park to hear good music, eat good food and win prizes. The weather cooperated with the 115 vendors who had plenty of handmade goods to sell. Co-chair Michael Clune said, “We put it on every year on Good Friday and Saturday of Easter weekend and we're blessed with some very good weather and everyone has a wonderful time.” Southport Spring Festival is sponsored by Downtown Southport Inc. and the Southport - Oak Island Kiwanis Club.
