Speed, alcohol suspected in fatal crash

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A young man is dead after a single car accident in Brunswick County. State Troopers responded to the crash on US 74 just west of Leland about 1 a.m.

The Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Toby Ray O'Neal, Jr., lost control of his Chevy pick-up and went airborne going 75 mph. He clipped several large trees and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers think speed and alcohol were contributing factors.

RIP TJ you will be missed

RIP TJ you will be missed Kiss my little girl for me i know your up there playing with her I guess what they say is true the good do die young

I Remember....

when TJ and BJ were just little kids doing flips in the front yard. They were always trying to out do the other. I remember too checking on them during the night and having to pull their covers back over them as they had kicked them off in their sleep.
The last time I saw TJ was at my son's ( BJ ) funeral. We sat and talked about the times he and BJ shared as kids. Like going to the sand pits to play and hunt whatever animal they could find to bring back to thr house and claim it as a pet.
My prayers and condolences go out to Tobey's family.

Yeah I remember growing up

Yeah I remember growing up you couldnt get them away from each other they were like 2 peas in a pod. BJ was very close to our family we took him in like he was one of our own. I hate that Toby had to go like he did but that is what god planned. I am Tobys older sister even though I am about 7 years olser than him I looked to him as being my older brother. He always had something to say about everything me and our other 2 sisters did. He tried to keep us straight. He aint alone up there in Heaven, Im sure BJ is showing him around and keeping him straight. LOL Toby will be missed by all... I love you little brother and I will see you when I get there..I Love you...
