East Bladen girls and West Bladen boys remain undefeated in basketball

videoDespite the short distance teams from New Hanover County rarely travel to Bladen County to play basketball, but Ashley High did make the trip on Monday night in order to face East Bladen. We also made the trip in order to check out hoops from two different locations: Ashley vs. East Bladen and South Columbus vs. West Bladen.

Next up for UNCW: 4th ranked Louisville

videoThe Louisville Cardinals and the UNCW Seahawks have a connection in men's basketball. First of all, UNCW head coach Kevin Keatts used to be an assistant coach at Louisville. Secondly, the Seahawks will face Louisville later this week.

NC State swimmer Stephen Coetzer represented South Africa as a member of its national team at the 2014 Short Course World Championships. Coetzer is a Laney High graduate.

12 ACC football teams headed to bowl games

East Carolina is headed to Birmingham to play in a bowl game. The Pirates will represent the AAC, meanwhile 12 ACC teams will play in college football bowl games. This includes NC State, UNC and Duke.

Undefeated season ends for Hoggard

Eagles sweep Gators in East Bladen-East Columbus basketball matchup

videoVeteran boys basketball head coach Ken Cross picked up another victory on Thursday night. He's inching closer to 700 career wins with every breath. The East Bladen girls were dominant in their victory over East Columbus. Lacey Suggs tied a career high with 32 points on Thursday night.

ECU loses heartbreaker

It took a miracle play to beat East Carolina on Thursday. UCF without any time left on the clock found a mirackle. Breshad Perriman hauled in a 51-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the game, lifting the University of Central Florida over East Carolina 32-30 on Thursday night to claim a share of the American Athletic Conference title.

Schedule set for MLK Jamfest in January
