WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) --- UNCW men's basketball coach Buzz Peterson watched some of the players on the UNCW men's basketball perform individual improvement drill workouts at Trask Coliseum with former interim coach Brooks Lee Wednesday night. It was the first look Peterson has had of his new team in action.

"I'm watching individual improvement drills, and what I'm asking Brooks Lee to do is to continue what he's been doing, and he's been doing a great job of working these guys out," Peterson said. The workout was the Seahawks' last before exams next week.

Peterson told WWAY he's been on the recruiting trail looking for future players. This includes a visit with Tanner Milson, who committed to UNCW several months ago.

"I've been out pretty hard with a couple of scholarships available," Peterson said. "I just don't want to waste one. I want to make sure they can help us."

Peterson will bring two former Appalachian State assistant coaches to UNCW, including Matt McMahon who was considered to be the favorite to replace Peterson in Boone. Instead, that job went to another assistant: former UNC Tar Heel Jason Capel.

Buzz Peterson

I am so disappointed in Coach Peterson. As a person and reresentative of ASU. Ungrateful and spoiled.

What would you do if another

What would you do if another company offered to double your salary to come work for them? Would you stay at your old job?
