Now in its 13th season the Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Featuring 14 teams, the league gives college players the chance to refine their skills with wooden bats during the summer months. Tuesday night they held their All-Star Game in Wilmington. The 35th Annual Cape Fear Sevens Rugby Tournament wrapped up Sunday at Ogden Park in New Hanover County. Fifty squads participated over the weekend, including a handful of international squads - some came from as far away as Africa. Full story...

The Wilmington Hammerheads hosted the Chicago Fire Tuesday night at Legion Stadium. It was a third round match in the annual US Open Cup Soccer Tournament, pitting the Hammerheads against a team from Major League Soccer. Full story...
