WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A store in Independence Mall in Wilmington is going pink, and it's all for a good cause.
A Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event was held at ReVive, a store geared toward relaxation and feminine products. People stopped by to take advantage of free food and prizes and learn about breast cancer and what women with the disease can do to take care of themselves.
ReVive's owner says this is not just good for her business but its good for women, too.
"I am super excited," Myra McDuffie said. "My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and that's how ReVive came about, and this is all about reviving one's inside. If we can teach a person how to be more healthy inside and get all the resources they need to make that happen, then we can always reshape their outsides."
McDuffie says people poured in to her store all day to show their support for the cause.
Making Strides is a nationwide walk that helps raise money to fight breast cancer. WWAY is proud to be part of Wilmington's Making Strides Walk on Saturday, October 16 at Cape Fear Community College.
