Study: People moving to North Carolina

I've studied this for years. Understand that the resentment is far more deep rooted than just the North winning the war. It goes back to the days of the Constitution. If you truly wished to know, you could find out. I would more than happy to share what I know but it would take hours of text, which most likely, would be a waste of time. I've got 2 Northern Grandparents and 2 Southern Grandparents and do not take sides. However, the resentment that is not tongue in cheek is understandable.

We used to play in the streets under incandescent streetlamps while the parents relaxed on front porch gliders as the cicadas sang in the trees...yeah..."hellhole"! "how about doing something about all the riff raff on the streets, you know the ones who are setting churches on fire, stabbing young children, stealing from the elderly....... I think you should concentrate on those issues, after all they didn't migrate from other states..." No, they didn't migrate from other states...they were brought here against their will. As for how we USED to concentrate on those issues? We might have to eventually go back to a system that worked in the past. "Perhaps you should focus your time on keeping kids out of gangs, and in the schools..." My grown kids were never in gangs and graduated from school, thank you very much. Five Points Gang, La Cosa Nostra, Bloods, Crips, La Familia, La Eme ... sure doesn't sound like anything borne from these parts. "I think there are alot of other things you could be doing with your time, instead of complaining about people who have worked their entire lives, paid taxes and now want to retire in an affordable place, as now they only have a pension to live on..." This is free time! We LOVE to pick on those wonderful bearers of the precious gift known as being from "Up Nawth"! They even say it like we're supposed to be impressed! Like we're supposed to touch your garments and say, "Ooh! Tell me once again: how do you do it...UP NAWTH? D-do you think y-you might be able t-to teach ME how to do that as good as you?" Lol! You want an affordable place to retire on your pension, do ya? Well what's wrong? Did your greedy little 'buy low, sell high' paws end up putting you out of your overdeveloped postage-stamped sized property? My! Pray tell: how can we have THAT down HERE? Show us how you do it, oh Glorious Ones! Help us to understand! "....... By the way, do you even have a job, my guess is you have never paid a dime in taxes." I had one in the 70's. Have owned my own cabinetry business since '78. And believe me: I have paid many dimes in taxes. More than you could count!
