Super Saturday is underway, it's the day the IRS tries to get taxpayers to file their taxes before the April deadline. It's geared toward low-wage earners and those receiving veterans benefits to file their taxes with the IRS free of charge. The IRS is also urging taxpayers to file early to be eligible to receive economic stimulus checks. Taxpayer Advisor, Maria Keyser says " in order to receive the economic stimulus payment, otherwise known as the rebate taxpayers must file a 2007 tax return, we're trying to include everyone and make sure anyone eligible for the payment receives that payment." The IRS is encouraging everyone to file before April 15th. Our local IRS office will be holding another taxpayer assistance day on April 15th to get last minute filers.
