The group Surfers Healing and volunteers gave some youngsters with autism the opportunity to hang ten.
Parents watched from shore as the young surfers rode the waves.
They say the event gave the kids an opportunity they wouldn't of otherwise had.
Parent Kelly Brice said, "…to have people to come out and volunteer their time and they're able to work with him. If he's not able to do the actual surfboard they have the rafts on duty, so they can put him on a raft. Either way he's going to get out there and either way as a parent you feel like he's safe."
Community members came together to provide food for all of the surfers and their families, and after lunch the kids were ready to get right back to the waves.
