WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Water Street in Downtown Wilmington is known for its proximity to the water. But today it really lived up to its name.
Water was actually on Water Street this afternoon. A section of the road at Market Street was blocked off to traffic. High tide caused the Cape Fear River to overflow and run out onto parts of the road.
A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
