Port City Java is organizing a Make a Marine's Thanksgiving drive. They're looking for 27 families to host two Marines each from Camp Lejeune Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. You can feed them lunch, watch some football, or do whatever your family does to celebrate the holiday.

Steve Schnitzler, head of PCJ Ventures LLC, says the coffee house chain was bought Feb. 1 by Black Gold Holdings LLC, which is owned by Wilmington businessman W. Cecil Worsley, III, who also owns an oil and convenience store business in the area.

You can go into any large chain store and see products both in English and Spanish as companies all over take advantage of a large Spanish-speaking population, including Port City Java.

It is one of the Cape Fear's best known businesses; tied up in legal disputes over rent Port City Java has packed up and moved. Don't worry the company did not leave Wilmington, it just moved its headquarters across town.
