Except for a few rainouts... round one of the playoffs is history.

Wilmington native Connor Barth is now a member of the NFL Miami Dolphins. The Hoggard graduate will compete with Dan Carpenter for the lone kicking position on the team as the Dolphins approach the start of the pre-season schedule.

The pairings have been announced for the high school football playoffs. The first round starts Nov. 14.

40 high school seniors from North Carolina were selected today to play in the 72nd Annual NC-SC football game that will be played in Spartanburg, SC on December 20. Two players from SE North Carolina were chosen. Donte Moss ( Jacksonville Northside ) and Pat Worley ( South Columbus ).

There are five new members of the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame. They include three men who became local coaching legends. One man who became part of major league baseball history. And a woman who blazed a trail for others.
