The city's downtown on-street parking will be free starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 13, and all day on Saturday, April 14 for Azalea Festival activities. Parking will be free in the Central Business District, which extends from Ann to Brunswick streets and from Water and Nutt to Fourth streets. On-street parking is always free on Sundays. Signs will be posted to alert visitors about the free parking.

Carolina Beach will see an increase in parking fees this spring. Town Council unanimously voted Tuesday night to extend pay parking by two hours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Council also voted to increase hourly parking rates by $0.25 to $1.50/hour. All-day parking will also go up one dollar to $8/day.
